I was told my car has a bent subframe by the previous owner. How much labor is it to do?

to bend it? one bad judgment call. to fix it? depends on how messed up it is. you'll have to take it to a body shop to get a quote.

front is doable in garage with serval hours and a buddy or 2.

I belive the rear is held in with appox 80 spot welds.

 

i bought one for $40 and had my friend who owns a shop install it for $150.
but that was the front sub frame

Post a pic of it.. My friends is a little bent, found out when we installed a subframe brace. While putting it in, we just tightend the **** out of it, it got it a little starighter, Damage was where lca bolts in by the way.

 

ok i will soon. really can't see what's wrong myself. looks normal but the wheel sticks out a bit.

 

A pic of how the wheel sticks out would also help.

rear subframe plus labor i seen go for anywhere from 800 to 1200

 

the subframe itself are 99 dollars. that would be some serious labor what 25 hours or so?

 

yep thats what professional mechanics charge.

 

oic. No way in hell i will go to a shop, to many people that do those types of jobs from their home.

auto business is huge in PX.

 

You have a spot welder at home? You'll need one...

 

no going to find someone that does.

 

subframe 99 bucks
8 or so hours welding labor from a guy for cheap 200 max

300 is my estimate.

 

does your 300 dollar guy know the specs and measurements on where to mount the new subframe. your entire rear end alignment is based off of the rear subframe being in the perfect location. just a thought.

 

The wheel hit the curb and bent the subframe but not the wheel, pretty weird.

Its not that big of a deal, actual frame damage would be worse. It's still clean title.

 

I sure its the sub frame? it could be upper or lower control amrs, or trailing arm(s)

With your pics the only damage i see is the wheels being moved, no subframe damage, unless i just cant see it?

 

well the guy said he already fixed the other stuff. also the car has integra brakes front and back. hopefully i can just get it bent back, doesn't look too bad.
