Vinyl interior unpopular? (pics included)
Just curious to see if people like the black Vinyl (pleather) interior. I've been kicking around this site for a couple years now and I have rarely seen anyone rocking the black Vinyl. Seems everyone has cloth, 'Teg leather, aftermarket, etc etc.

Not many people have it because it was only available on '92 CX hatchbacks (possibly VXs as well) it wasn't available for any other year or trim level. Vinyl sucks, especially black vinyl, its hot enough to burn you in the summer, and cold as ice in the winter. That said, the door panels are way nicer than the cloth ones, the seats, not so much.

But is it any worse than black leather? Possilbly more durable. Easier to maintain than cloth.
Thoughts?

I must confess that I am awestruck your vinyl seats are still in one piece. All the ones I have ever seen have been ripped to near unrecognizable, generally along the stitching where they are weakest. The disdain with which I hold vinyl holds nearly no bounds. Vinyl durability > Leather? I think not. Sure, easier to clean than cloth, but this only applies if you are a particularly spilly driver, in which case perhaps a bib is more in order than hideous and uncomfortably hot and sticky (summer) / freezing cold (winter) seats. There's a reason they only came on the base model CX - they are the lowest of the lowest bottom feeders of fabrics.
OK, rant over. Just having a bit of fun.
Your seats are remarkably nice. Question: Driver's side seat bolster: Not ripped?

Your seats are remarkably nice.Sticky in the summer and icy in the winter. Honestly it's not really too bad IMO.
I've had this interior for almost ten years now and it has held up very well! I guess I just assumed it was at least somewhat durable. Nothing but vacuuming and vinyl protectant.

I sort of like it, but I've always preferred cloth over leather or vinyl.
Plus I hate how perforated leather or vinyl can get so dirty. I'd drive myself crazy with that.

I can't say I love the Vinyl seats, I've just had them forever and I think they look cool.
I really HATED the grey interior this car had so it was a no-brainer.
Thanks for the comments everyone.

i like the vinyl door panels! i swap for leather gsr seats since my seats were f^ck beyong fixing... but i dont use car in winter or park in the sun mainly shade and garaged.. so i dont need to worry bout seats getting cold at all.. better then cloth imo..
I like the look. As far as comfort, I would always choose cloth above vinyl or leather in a car just because of the hot and stick/cold thing. My sister's boyfriend has a VW with the "leatherette" interior and the seats are actually very comfy, but I tend to doubt the base Honda ones were as nice.
Your vinyl protectant must be nice, those things are in great condition!
