Starting Problems - I tried everything
My moms 92 Accord EX-R has problems starting when its hot out... it is
an intermittent problem (doesn't do it all the time) and usually starts after 4-5 cranks. It throws NO code.
It already has a full tune up: plugs,distributor....
I also replace the distributor bearing, and the ignition coil with no luck.
Any other suggestions, I'm confused.

Main relay is probably the problem. I've heard many people on this board state that is the problem I have a 93 EX and it did spaz out once but it was becuase the battery was practically dead. I could hear the relay clicking but it wouldn't let the car turn over.
On my 91 Civic is was the Main Relay, I didn't know Accord's have that problem
too?
Or is it the Fuel Pump relay?
Any other thoughts, I hate these intermittent problems... it seems Honda is famous for them.
Thanks
too?

I read on another board a thread that had 7 people saying that they had their main relay go out. Same exact thing. When hot out it wouldn't start all the time, but when it cooled off all was good again.
I say main relay as well.

I don't know about the fuel pump relay idea.. I have 246,000 miles on my car and have only had the small main relay problem... Just my .02. I'd say check out the main relay.
If I disconnect the main relay it throws a fuel injector code,
so why doesn't it throw a code when the car doesn't start?

The circuit that goes bad is not connected to the CEL light. There are 8 connections on the relay, and the circuit for the fuel pump is the one that always goes. I work at honda, I saw probably close to 300 of these this summer.
Thanks guys! Honda should have connected the entire relay to the CEL light,
it would have eliminated a lot of confusion.

Is this the same problem on a 99 4cyl Accord? Mine will occasionally (more often now) not run after starting. The engine fires almost instantly, runs for half a second, then shuts off. If I use about half throttle when starting it the engine tries to die in the same manner but fires again before all engine speed is lost.
I suspect the same thing is happening sometimes while driving. I'll be crusing along and it just shuts off. Sometimes it re-fires right away, other times I have to re-start the engine.
My problems seem to happen when the engine is cold, not so much when it is warm.
