fuel pump main relay problem
iv been having a lil prblem im guessing its the fuel pump main realy. in the mornings the car wont start. i would tug on the fuel pump wires and it would star. now not even tugging on them it still wont start. i have to get a test light and play with the #1 wire and it starts can this be the relay or fauls contact on the harness i took the hole thing appart as u can see and none of the fule pump wire seem to be spliced or cut any were. let me know what u guys think

^yeah...like your gonna need a new car...but ive been there. its a nightmare but only the owner knows what wires are what and can put it back together like legos
you should have just checked the wiring at the pump for the correct voltage....listen in the tank when you turn the key to "run" and see of you hear the pump kick on...opening the filler and pushing the little fuel door open with a screw driver helps. if that failed then you need to see if voltage is getting to the pump. if so, you had a bad fuel pump. if not you had a bad relay possibly. you could have put a fuel pressere gauge on your fuel rail and tested it as well for the correct pressure. if so you could have checked the relay. and dont forget to check the fuses too. damn that sucks you took your whole car apart.
when i turn the key the cel light stays on the relay dosnt do the second click when i put the test light to it it like if it jumps it and then it starts working againg the whole day untill the morning time its been really humid these last couple days thats when it started doing this problem
i did check to see if there was power going to the pump when the relay dosent click there is no power when it dose i here the pump flowing
i dont know if its a fauls contact or just the relay

they werent working the hazard switch wasnt connected and im gussing that was causing the problem i had replaced the turn signal relay and still didnt work till i ripped of the dash and put it back together the hazard switch was never connected but i tryied the old relay and it was gone any ways the guy who had the car before me was a disaster they had a single filiment bulb on the rear brake lights no bulbs on the front tuning signals the car was wow i have straighten this car up like nasty compeard to before all them loose wires are a wrapped in electrical tape and in the black housing they go in
damn i know about the wiring issues. i hate crappy wiring. i have the OEM wire loom. its 5mm and has a heat rating of 320 degrees F. i also have the thermal tape that increases the heat rating to 900 degrees F. and i have the OEM wiring in bulk just like they have at the factory. i went through great lengths of trouble to get it with the factory color codes on the wire housing/insulation
like i say...i hate crappy wiring LOL

I used to have the same problems out of relays. I even kept an extra one in the car for the humid days when I'd drive somewhere and then the car would not even crank when I was ready to leave.
Solved it by resoldering the connections in the main relay. Brittle old solder joints + heat = no power. I've had no problems with it since the repair. Also, if you don't know how to solder, now would probably be a good time to learn.
