whats up guys been wanting to be sneaky with my next car. I'm curious about what possible differences could be between B18b and b16 block. I'm wanting to install ls crank, rods and pistons into a JDM B16 block. I would obviously take it to a machine shop for measurements and possible line bore and new OEM bearings.I was looking at another site it looks like the both have the same bore. Is the deck height the same? I did some searching and looked in the FAQ forum but couldn't find what i was looking for.

 

i think the deck height on a b16 is shorter than a ls. you could put ls internals in a gsr block though.

 

Im pretty sure you can swap internals with a gsr and ls but the B16 is a few mm shorter than the b18's so I doubt the crank would fit.

Plus thats a lot of work for basically no added power if not lost power

 

why would you wanna do that?
just build a poormans type r
plus if you do the build your wanting to, you wont be able to rev past about 8

 

It needs to be a 1.6 to be a legal swap here...

 

edit just saw your post. buy a b16 bore it 2.0L. bam 2L in a 1.6 no ones the wiser.
