Default Can you add Backup battery to pre-existing alarm?

My friend has a Python 990 or something similar, can you add a backup battery to a pre-existing installed alarm? He doesnt have a account so i'm asking for him obviously. Simple plug n play?

depends on the alarm. Most aftermarket alarms will have a battery backup port.

You would need to buy the dei 520t and follow the instructions. Its very detailed. Any alarm you can add a back up battery too.

yeah, i got the 520t backup for $11 on eBay brand new.

I just had best buy put it in for $30. After you install it you need to drive around a bit for it to fully charge. If not, it will drain your battery and cause the alarm to go off.

It does take quite a bit of juice. I made a slow charge thing using a 12v bulb to slowly charge my capacitor for my system so it doesn't spark everytime I hook up the battery back up, and after installing the backup battery it takes forever to charge both of those so i just let it spark.
