Default 00 gsr problems

alrite i got a 00 gsr with about 100k on it (change the oil religously) havent sprayed it or boosted it, a while back noticed a little blue gray smoke when i first drive it in the morning mostly and sometimes here and there while driving it also went through some oil a quart every 2 weeks and the pcv kept gettin alot of oil in it, also got a oil leak maybe rear main or tranny havent pin pointed it yet and that dam black box, took it to a shop had them test the head (supposdly) but he juss half assd it an tested it for coolant leakage didnt test the valves he put a new oem(honda) head gasket and i had em put some 00 typeR cams in it with a valve adjustment, ran alot better probly the cams obviously) but still smoked about the same maybe a lil worse. i did a compression test and it was off between highest 185 to 145 was the lowest cant remember exact. what yall thinks goin on bad valve seals/stems or guides? got the head off taken it to get rebuilt tryin to figure out if i should mess with the bottom end or not, daym another thing i use to have a apexi cat back and put a stock exhaust on thas when i started noticing it, thanks for reading my book

How much oil is it using per 1,000 miles? The compression test being that much of a variance between cylinders isn't good though.

I'm surprised they didn't go through the head while it was off for the head gasket though.

If the head is off might as well replace the rings.

No. I would inspect them to see what they look like but generally Honda bearings are pretty durable.

agree bearings are often good as long as the motor has never been starved for oil. measure to make sure you don't have a cylinder out of round and re ring. the compression loss could be here or an exhaust valve. oil burners coat exhaust valves and deposits accumulate. many oil burners blow from a fractured exhaust valve. basically the valve can't cool itself on the seat and being blanketed in oil gets so hot so many times it fractures. i would never dream of rebuilding a b18c with the OE exhaust valves, intakes are almost always near perfect but the exhaust valves are a wear and tear item. new exhaust valves, new rings, new stem seals and measure the guides for play. if any wobble is felt in a guide at all replace it.

alrite so i pulled the head off took it to the machine shop had them test it. he said a few of the exhaust guides were bad so i had them replace all the exhaust valve guides put new seals and clean an check all the stems springs etc and surface the head as needed. Could some of those exhaust valve guides being bad cause the oil blue smoke when i first drove it after sitting and seldom but hear and there a little while driving and the compression being 145 in one cylinder? ive had some ppl follow me and wouldnt see it smoke all the time. i bought new proline rings? but really dont wana rip it apart and get it rehoned and stuff what yall think thanks? and i couldnt see any visable scarring on the walls juss the swivlle oem bore lines
