Anyone still in touch with Aamir? I have some questions for him about his old Mazdaspeed Protege, and it looks like he doesn't visit here very often.
TIA!

Adam - you can find him on facebook. I'm barely on here, but email me: navindhas@gmail.com and I'll forward you his fb info (prolly the fastest way now, and i lost his #)
But you sure he had a protege? I knew he had his ITR, and was dailying a TSX.

Not trying to thread jack or anything, just don't want to make a new thread for the same subject. Anyone know StunnaBen's phone number or any kind of contact info for him? I had it but needed a new sim card for my phone and lost it. PM me!

Is a Protege trendy enough for the hookah-smoking, designer jeans set?

36 very fast drivers on track at the same time, but still loads of fun.
Sander re-tuned the car for more torque under the cam, so it's even more of a beast.
Combine that with repaving in the heavily tracked areas, and things got very interesting.
It's impossible to be full throttle in 8 now because the car will break traction on the bump and understeer...which makes for some drama and a very questionable track out. Never did find the perfect line through there w/the new paving and the retuned car.
Then add a new seat into this mix, and I'm not just sore...I'm black and blue in places.

Is there a NASA event there this weekend? And I don't remember there being a bump in T8, but its been awhile since I drove on Summit (2 years I think? Damn...). Is the repave good overall?
The paving is okay. There is a bump in 8 now that you have to be careful of. The usual FF line there is something you'll have to slow down for if you have enough HP, or you'll have to play with another line.
The normal FF line there has a 1/4 second moment with one wheel on the new paving, and one wheel on the old paving, and then there's a bump. If you're on that line, you're probably not going to be at full power if you're over maybe 220 HP.
5 is not as fast as it used to be. If you are used to powering out from the inside, you might want to think about going to middle and turning in to point to the turn for six, especially higher HP cars.
So it's a bit of a challenge making 4, bouncing off the gater at the right (which shoves you to the left) and then getting back over enough to turn at the middle instead of the inside.
You end up thinking maybe you should just slow down.
One thing leads to another leads to another and another.....
Before you know it, you're re-thinking the whole plan. :-)
