Hey road race guys,
From what I have seen, the EP3 has a short-coming with it's brakes on a road course. There is a lot that can be solved with different pad compounds and the aftermarket will provide a Big Rotor/Big Caliper kit for big bucks. Is there a bigger caliper that is OEM Honda or after market that will solve this braking issue more economically?
Are CRV calipers a direct fit bolt-on?
Thanks,
Greg

I've heard of the RSX guys upgrading to the Acura TL calipers (OEM Brembos) as well. These are often difficult to source and expensive as well.
I'd recommend the Wilwood kit as mentioned above, with SS brake lines and a better brake fluid.

I track my car in the summer and the calipers are not the problem! I would get hawk hp track pads with brembo discs. I woul upgrade the braking line to SS and I would up my braking fluid to DOT5. I would also remove the back cover that is behind the front discs. This will help to cool the brakes and you will have better response all the time!

I guarantee you will see a huge difference!
Also try to loose some dead weight in the car if you tracking it!!! That will help a lot too... I usually take my rear seats out, spare and spare tools, everything that you have lying around the car including the glove compartment...

I track my ep....did the no splash shield, race pads thing for a while.....after a 30 minute session, you could read a news paper by the glow of my rotors....1 track session = about 30,000 miles of wear on the rotors and do not try to street drive on the track pads, you will die.
A couple things to think about....the stock rotors, calipers, pads and lin weights 23 lbs a side....proof...

the weight for the 12.2 inch willwood kit was 16lbs..... proof.......

you do not need as harsh pads for track days and the rotors are cheap because you are only replacing the steel part, not hat......they also last longer

I got Hawk HPS pads and upgraded to SS lines as well. I also flushed the brake system and started running AP Super 600(which I religiously bleed every six months or after every lapping day). Kind of a pain because it isn't compatible with other brake fluids. In hindsight, I would go with AP 550. I also got a set of brake performance rotors and properly bedded the brakes. That car will now put you through the windshield if you mash on the brakes! On lapping days, brake fade in minimal, but there. Daily driving sees a much improved brake feel instead of the usual " stepping on a plum" feeling of stock Honda brakes.
