my 2002 s2000 need a new soft top. Has anyone tryed this one on ebay? Its less that $459shipped. Or should i really spends the money on on OEM soft top from hardtopguy for $900 shipped?

I have a Robbins soft top i got from ebay awhile back, this one seems to be a good deal, free shipping, 5 year warranty and comes with detailed instructions for installation, still a pain in the butt install though.

 

i know the robbins one fits good. but also a lot of local owners have used the ez-on one and it fits great too, and it's cheaper

Yeah alot cheaper, im sure it will be fine, not so ez-on though.

 

the top they show on that car is the OEM top. Thats stupid, I can't believe they tried to pass it as theirs

 

well i've personally seen ez on tops installed, and i know they fit fine, but it's up to you man, and topsonline is cheaper

I have installed an ez on top and I would not recommend them. Yes, it fits, however it is no where near oem. A few things that stood out: The lower piece that anchors the rear bottom of the top to the chasis-the part you pop rivet to the rain guard-is double stitched on the oem version. It's stitched on the top AND bottom of the plastic trim. On the ez top it is stitched on one side only. Also, all the holes on the ez on top were not correctly aligned. Last, on the oem top the front is glued/stitched such that it creates a "pocket" for the front of the frame to slide into. The ez on does not have this. I had to use remnants from my old top to make it on the ez on .

I will never use nor recommend their product.

Buy a slightly used OEM top second hand, they go for around 400$ all day.

i just put one of there tops on my 02. it took about 6 hours from start to finish. not too bad of a job.
