goal is 300 to the wheels for daily driving and with the flip of the boost controller switch hoping to have 400+

Question:

How much is it costing you to build this B16 block?
- sleeve kit
- labor
- cooling system upgrade, you'll need it if sleeving

I'm asking because for the money spent, another block may be worth looking into

That is a lot of crap you are doing and buying to only make 300 hp and 400 on high boost? unless you are being waaaay over conservative with the tune???? a stock motor will hold 300 hp if tuned properly.

its not always a bad to thing to go a little over when boosting, if this were me i would definelty sleeve the block, it just less things to go wrong, however stock sleeves can handle about 500hp..

If this were me, id go with a gsr block and bore to 2.0L. Just my 0.2 tho, also have you looked into sleeves such a darton, eagle? or are you heart set on erl.

Oh ok, For a 2.0 i would just get a gsr. I saw a 2L b16 fail in like 5k miles, Guy said block just couldnt handle the side load.

If i were in your shoes, i'd spring for the 2.0L Dart block and call it a day. hen you can sell off your b16 short block and get a couple bucks back

seems like a good build you should have no problem reaching your hp goal my friend has a b16a with weisco pistons and eagle rods bored .20 over ...with stock valve train and gsr cams he put down 284 whp on 11 psi on a 60 trim turbo
