Exhaust flow for more performance

Icon2 Exhaust flow for more performance

I have a D15B swap into my hatch. Im not sure if I need to buy just exhuast headers or headers and pipping.

for the best performance you need header right on through to the muffler

get a narrow tube header with at the most 2.25 piping, you'll get more flow. bigger is not always better

Unless it is turboed. If you lose all your backpressure u lose all your power with it.

Wow, no one here understands exhaust theory anymore?

OP, to maximize your flow you will need a tuned header and exhaust, depending on your motor's setup different headers and exhaust sizes will behave differently.

So in theory you want a header and exhaust it'll out pro form factory parts. Assuming the aftermarket parts are of quality.

He never actually said if it was turboed or not all he said is he did the jdm equivalent swap. I was only giving more info.

headers and 2.25" piping will do just fine

Wow, somebody else read my mind. Once again the whole back pressure thing... Where is a link to that great post that explains exhaust gas scavenging? The term backpressure is used all too wrongly, right up there with the "weight" of oil to use rather than viscosity.
