usually a good electrical tool set has special tools for doing this. i have a good craftsman set that has been great so far. they cost about 75-100 bucks. i cant remember exactly how much it was but try that set. it has little picks that can get in the plugs and press the little lock-pin in the connector and then you simply pull the wire of the pin out that you are releasing

I think I have something that will work, but I can't see where the locking tab(s) is for these pins.

it could have a different locking tab. my electrical tool set has a bunch of **** in there that IDK what they would be for. possibly other types of locking tabs. honestly though, i have never taken this plug apart. why are you taking it apart?

I can't remember what it looks like off the top of my head. But for circular female/male ends you buy a small hollow metal cylinder tool that fits over it and squeezes the pins back away from the plastic. I know Newegg sells them for computer power supplies, I used these on some of my Accord's plugs (ECU namely)

Wish I had seen this 2 weeks ago https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/96-alternator-regulator-fit-inside-00-a-2753816/. But no, I am really trying to figure out how to de-pin the plug.

Have you tried just using a small flat head screwdriver and just jimmying it a bit? It shouldn't take much

Yes. I can't tell where it is clipped at. The only thing I can think is that there are two circular parts to the pin that may need to be compressed at the same time to get it out.
