Default Taking the next step

I bought an 93 si vtec about a month ago for 800. The shop that was selling the car was only selling it for the cost of work he did to the car which was replacing valves and a few other engine components. the car was in a not so good condition. I had about 4500 to spend to fix her up. The original owner did a shitty paint job and he has a wings west front kit(not the lip).

Parts i installed:
tien springs
Kyb shock and strut
GReddy timing belt and balance belt
H23 tensioner conversion
NGK iridium spark plugs and wires
Skunk2 mega power cat-back
Magnaflow cat
Dc ceramic headers
Injen short ram intake
Oem blank rotor with Hawks ceramic brake pads
New radiator from auto part store
new axle drive shaft
magen racing strut tower bar front and rear
new tie rods
red top optima battery
new water pump

Thats what i done so far to get the car to pass inspection. my friends is a mechanic/inspector and he helped me with all the installation. We pulled to motor out to clean it a bit and put new oil pan gasket. I replaced the coolant sensor and i want to replace all the sensors in the engine but dont know what they are. a list would be really helpful before we put the engine back in

This is my first car that i Modding and dont really have much knowledge on taking the next step to increasing Hp and was wonder what direction i should go next with my car. I can do the simple engine tune up and changing my belts you know the stuff you should know how to do. Just wanting some advice on what i should do next.

Anything advice would be great

SEARCH is your friend.
If you can't do that, you don't stand a chance with that build.

well, to be honest, you've done all the NA bolt on mods there are to do. They probably aren't helping that much. Given your list of mods, i'd find a way to tune the a:f, get it tuned, and call it a day with HP mods--but that's just my opinion. personally, I think trying to get more than 190-200 whp out of a naturally aspirated H22 is kind of pointless and way too expensive--but that's just my opinion.

I'd also look into spending money on better suspension bits, like konis/GC and a new rear sway, and get better rubber. Then drive as many track days/hpde's as I can afford...but again, that's just my opinion.

NirVtec - I am searching. How do you think i found out about the h23 tensioner conversion no honda angel is going to fly down and tell me.

Like i said im new to tuning but was always interested in tunning cars. I can do basic repair and have an understand how engines work. but when it comes to upgrade things to stage 1,2 ,3 **** im kinda lost. whats the best set up. my goal is to have a daily driver and track car. i always wanted a 4th gen and plan to keep it. I'm just stuck on what to do next. i got about 2g+ set aside for my next mod. Debating on doing my cams and cam gears or piston and crankshaft. 210-220whp is my goal as power go. im more focus on how my car handle and drive.

Bad Monkey- ya A:F tuning is what my friend suggested. already order skunk2 intake manifold and golden eagle fuel rail and but don't know which fuel injector would work best.

Well, if you want to make 210 to the wheels, you're going to need to open up the block and go with type S pistons, cams, camgears, etc. You'll probably need a new, fancier header. And at this point you'll definitely need engine management. And you may or may not make more than 200-210 whp at this point. And hope that your engine builder did a good job, because it'll F your daily driver reliability if he didn't.

ask yourself the question: is there REALLY a difference between 190 whp and 210whp? yeah, 20 whp is enough to notice on the butt dyno--but on the track how much of a difference in laptimes does it make? a few tenths? maybe 1s? compare that to the difference that comes with seat time--2 days of track time at a track vs. being able to afford 5 days of tracktime--if you spend more time driving and less time modding, your laps will improve by way more than 1s.

I know it's sexy to throw a bunch of parts at a car--but this sport is expensive enough when it comes to buying tires, changing brake pads, and doing oil changes for a track car. You don't need to drop $5000 that could be spent on tires/consumables on mods that won't really help you go that much faster.

IF you want to spend money on something, i'd rather have a prelude with 185whp and a quaife or other LSD, than a prelude with 210whp and an open diff.
