Default Will a Canadaian P73 work in a USDM ITR?

Well time has come to smog my car and I have Hondata s200 on my p28. To get the OBD port to even communicate with the machine I have to put a stock ecu in. Is it as simple as unplugging my p28 and plugging the P73 in?

I also need to find a stock ITR catalytic converter, but that's a different issue LOL.

I wouldn't see why not. Same engines.

I would think Canada would have similar smog standards compared to countries outside North America.

I agree with integra boy, the smog standards for canadians are almost identical to the us standards. Maybe you'll luck up and get a higher fuel map, smashn.

I know dude seriously I forgot what a pain it was. Contemplating just returning the car to stock because hell for 20whp dynojet really not worth the trouble. The car is slow as ***** anyway haha. If I want fast I can romp on my turbo whip.

Well if anyone local in norcal has a stock cat collecting dust, hit me up. I tried searching for one on the forums and came up with nothing. I can either borrow it for a week or two and pay for that or I can buy it. Unfortunately I lent my stock cat to a friend with a GSR and his car was recently stolen. Go figure.

I have a CDM P73 running in my USDM ITR. Passes emission with OBD check here in NY with no problems.

ARghh.... well the car won't start with the P73. I am thinking it is the immobilizer. Car runs perfect on my Hondata and P28, but I can't pass smog with that. Does anyone have any tips on how I can make this car run on the Canadian P73? I pulled the Hondata, plugged the P73 in and it cranks but no start

You would have to disable the immobilizer.

ok. i would like to know what the difference is between the US and Canadian ECU's. they DO have different part numbers. so there must be something different internally about them, or how the car runs??

i have had several different canadian ECUs, but i have never run one of them stock or took that much of a look at one. my experience has just been with P06/P28s.

only difference i can think of with canadian cars is the fact the use daytime running lights?

yes they all have different part numbers. american ecu's are a02 a03 and a04, jdm is 003+ and canadian is c02+

As stated in some other threads there is a way to mod it with no code.
