Default Clogged Catalytic. Got Fix?

Mr car has been running rich for about a year now, and I'm guessing my catalytic is so clogged up, not even Paris Hilton's sucking power would fix the issue. I want to swap in a test pipe but I'm in Cali, and unfortunately need carb legality. Is there any additive or chemical that will clean out the sooth in the cat?

Thnx in advance guys.

If you've been running rich for a while, the cat probably has accumulated a fair bit of carbon. The problem with the catalytic converter is that it can easily trap large amounts of carbon deposits due to its 3D honeycomb design. If you were to remove the cat, there may be various ways to clean it, but on the car, it is going to be pretty tough to clean it with a solvent that can pass through combustion and still manage to help clean.

Have you considered replacing it with a new unit?

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at buying a new cat. Its just that my car has been running terrible. It lags to get up to speed. Takes me extremely long to get to 80mph, which we all know that thats a speed a Honda can hit effortlessly. Somethings holding my car back and Im trying to figure it out. So taking it off sounds to be the best option.
