To make a long story short, I finally got most of the bugs fixed with my swap, but the RPM fluctuates and it is all over the place when I drive the car hard. It makes it hard to know when I am redlining.

Normal driving it works fine. I finally got my knock sensor and oil pressure sensor wired up and thats when it started doing that. When I had those connections off (oil pres. & knock sens.), RPM did not fluctuate but I did have a check engine (because of the knock sens).

Any Ideas?

 

How does the RPM guage fluctuate? Does it drop and kick back on rapidly while accelerating?

 

It goes up and down +/- 2000rpm. It's not consistant. When driving normal it's fine

 

iacv,.clean or replace ,... air in coolant system,....bleed the system,......... what temp thermostat did you put in??

 

It is the stock thermo. What's wierd though, it only started happening when I got the plugs for the knock and oil press sensor wired up. I cleaned out the throttle body but it only happens near redline.

 

Alright finally fixed the problem! I sprayed a **** load of carb cleaner in the throttle body and it seems to be running fine. Thanks!
