Default Which quiet muffler

I had a dynomax muffler on my car before and I got caught by some cop because it was too loud. It's a good think actually because I didn't like it all that much. I put my stock muffler back on and it sounds really metallic when I accelerate from a rest. It must be the muffler, but could be something else. Anyway, what kind of muffler do you guys suggest? I want a quiet one.... I'll probably just stick to stock, but I want some opinions.

Cheers

if u wanna stick with stock looking and something real quiet i recomend the one i got..... i dont like it since i want something louder
i got the Cherrybomb Turbo II muffler..... has a 2.5 inlet and outlet.
its about 13" long, 10" wide..... nice performance and its quiet @ high rpms since its flow designed over sound.....
i just want something that will go over my loud intake jejeje

I have Tanabe Hyper Medallion. It's nice and quiet, and looks real nice, with performance to boot. I'm actually selling the rear bolt on section of the exhuast for 150, if you're interested. I'm going to be getting the racing medallion and putting that on instead. IM me if you're interested.

How quiet is that? Would it be stock quiet or still a bit loud? I got caught with cops last week, that's why I need something really quiet.

It's stock quiet. I was really surprised because I had only heard the Racing Medallion and assumed it would sound a bit like that, but it didn't at all. Serious this is a nice and quite exhuast. Everyone always tells me how quiet my car is, even when I'm in VTEC. Let me know.

I might be interested. Do you have any pics of it? Also, I am in Canada, so this could cause a problem, especially for shipping. How much do you think shipping would be?

Oh, and would it bolt right on to my stock mid pipe? I don't want to have to have the end cut off and re-soldered.

You're going to have 2 problems.
1) I'm not sure what shipping is going to cost, but I'm sure it will be more expensive.
2) Also the exhaust is 2.25 and you would have to cut and weld. So I guess it would be too much trouble for you.

You said you had a dynomax muffler and it was too loud? Throw a resonator on it and it will sound sweet.

I've got the dynomax muffler from autozone ($40) and a 32inch Thrush resonator ($12). I got it welded up using 2 1/4 piping and a catco cat. I love the way it sounds. Stock sounding at idle (little deeper) and then growls at WOT. Everyone says I have the hardest sounding exhaust around. And it only cost about $150.

Yeah, well you see, everybody says your exaust is too loud!

I've just been told that putting my cat back on will help a bit. I might try that first.

ya, don't forget to add resonator cuz that quiets down the muffler a bit n gets rid of that raspy noise.

Thanks

thats pretty much the same setup i have
2.25 cat back with NO resonator to a dynomax ultra flo
very quiet, almost stock but at 4500 or WOT it roars
keep in mind that with no resonator the sound sometimes get raspy

anyone have any pics of the HKS Exhaust?

edit: i just got this muffler to put on my car. i am currently running 2.25 piping with a flowmaster 60 series and no cat with a small resonator in the place of the cat. louder than a mother. so i am going to put this on along with a cat. hopefully that will get me the sound im trying to achieve. or would a bigger resonator be better than a cat?

Lol... do you know how many modded crx's there are in the US ? You think youve honestly seen all of them ? Most of the time, when someone says "there are 2 in the US that I know of" the actual number is in the thousands... lol
