Default Ignition lock cylinder issues.

Hey guys,

So a couple of weeks ago my lock cylinder started acting up and wouldn't allow my key to go in smoothly or turn over without a little trouble. I would have to gently jiggle the key to get it to turn over. Today it started getting REALLY tough and now takes quite a bit of trouble to get it to turn over.

I called the dealer and they want $105 to diagnose the problem but will apply that fee to any parts or labor required. If it turns out that I need a new key (I only have one and it is 7 years old) I will basically just get a new key for that $105 which is about what they cost anyway. If it ends up being the lock cylinder itself I know I will need to pay probably like $600 to $700 for parts and labor. I could replace it myself but I am assuming there will be programming and stuff involved.

Anyone have any similar issues? I was sure it was the key because it acts up in the door locks too but not I am not so sure. Any help would be great because I wouldn't mind paying $100 for a new key but can't afford $700 (luckily I haven't bought my reflash yet though) right now.

Thanks!
