Need help with ignition timing
Hi guys
The engine is a D16y8, 10.8:1 c/r, crower stage 2 cam(n/a) set to -2 degrees, i/e, running on 60 psi fuel pressure, P28 tuned on wideband, octane 91 fuel, rev up to 8500 rpm and runs great, really good power from 4000 to 8500 rpm, but a little hesitating under 3000rpm. I tried to adjust my igition timing but it's really hard because with this cam the engine is shaking a lot at idle (and I love it !!)
I tried to stabilised the engine about 1000rpm as crower idle adjustement with my cam, and ignition timing was at 12 btdc. I give it a shot at 14 btdc, runs better at low rpm, no pinging, but at 14 btdc my distributor is at the maximum of the adjustement. I was wondering if I could slot the distributor to get a few more degrees ? Or do you have any ideas about it ?? Thanks for helping !!!
