REALLY hard to get into gear, what's wrong?!?
For some reason today my car would not go into gear. I'd pull up to a stoplight and try to go into first and it wouldn't go in. Now I can get it into gear but i have to force it quite a bit. 42k miles on my gsr tranny with probably 60 1/4 mi passes at the track. I have a brand new ACT clutch so don't tell me my clutch isn't working. Thanks.
bad synchros...but honestly, it has to do with the clutch most likely. Sometimes with race type clutches, they make it harder to get into 1st and reverse.
I bled the clutch slave cylinder today and I thought it fixed the problem but it started doing it again. Here's what happened, tell me if you can make sense of this... I got into the car, pressed down the clutch (car is in 1st gear) and cranked it over and the car jumps forward like I didn't have the clutch in! I was like wtf? So i put it in neutral and started it and then it wouldn't go into reverse. Today when I got in the car and started it (car is in first gear) when i let off the brake it started moving forward like the clutch was semi-engaged (keep in mind the clutch is depressed to the floor). But after I drive it a block it goes away and goes into gear just fine. Then I'll pull up to a stop light and it won't go into gear again.. what is wrong with my car?!? fyi: I had an act 6 puck clutch put in about 1500 miles ago and it has been working great until now? Could they have messed up the installation? Give me some ideas. Thanks, Nick.
Also, when the car is off it goes into gear fine. If i start the car while its in gear it's hard to pull out of gear.

somewhat common problem with act or any heavy duty clutch. i had a similar problem with my car and all it took was a slight adjustment. hydrolic clutches do not have the same adjustment properties as a cable tranny but you can adjust them, or how/where they engage.
your clutch pedal will have some adjustment screws on it. get a shop manual or have someone adjust those until your clutch is acting the way it should.
if that doesnt work, i would go to the slave cyl. next. thats a simple fix as well.
worst case, its the fingers on your pressure plate, highly unlikely though being that its so new.

allright, now explain to me what the hell that is
How can I tell if its that and not something else and how do i go about fixing it?

I personaly think its a faulty clutch. Call act and explain whats going on to one of their tech and maybe theyll send you a new clutch. All very nice guys down there.
How about the input shaft binding in the bearing in the centre of the flywheel. That way the input is still spinning ever when the clutch disengages it.... Just a thought...
