Default D series head compatability?

so ive done integras forever, never even looked at a civic or single cam, now im putting together a civic, the motor i got for free turns out to have a bad head. the motor i have is a d15b7, ive been trying to get the b7 head but noone seems to have one, ive had about 4 people telling me theyve had z6 heads, whats the difference, what else do i need to work the z6 head, and what affect will it have on compression and overall performance?

Z6 head is VTEC so if you use that you'll end up with what most know as a "mini me" check in the FAQ for details on how to do this.

you can put any D series head on there unless its a d15z1 head. A VTEC head will require that you get a VTEC ECU and wire the VTEC, and take the oil jacket out of the block.
