Default painting kits

im planning on painting my car pretty soon, and will have to buy all the materials myself

i figured that a painting kit would be alot cheaper since i have about a $300 budget

any ideas on which brands/ kits would would provide all the needed materials?

...any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

SEM color horizons is a great single stage kit, do you have a paint gun?

nah, most paint kits consist of base, hardener and reducer for single stage, dual stage kits would be base/clear hardener and reducer.

you can get yourself a decent 2k high build primer for a good price at whatever paint store you decide to go with. are you worried about strictly paint materials or does this concern body work as well?

well i am planning on getting rid of a few dings here and there, nothing major.

but the problem is that i know pretty much nothing about painting a car.

iv done some research on google, but still have trouble understanding the whole process

you think you or anyone else can break it down for me in simple steps
haha

its something like this right?

sanding
primer
sanding
sealer
sanding
paint
sanding
clear coat?

something like that?
haha

well, for starters, pictures speak louder then words

https://honda-tech.com/forums/appearance-build-threads-122/project-nighthawk-95-integra-2dr-special-edition-2696620/

but to be honest, its going to be a complicated explanation for one post since you really dont know anything about it, generally speaking if theres no major repairs that need to be made besides dings and dents, it will consist of marking your dents, sanding the areas to find the low spots, filling, glazing, sanding, priming, sanding, spraying. Theres a billion different methods people use that change the results of each job, a billion different kinds of paints, colors, additives, tints, primers, etc that all change the way the paint comes out. Id also like to point out that you really need to spray the base/clear in a paint booth for it to come out properly.
