I have a 88 crx with a b16a and today while i was driving my cel came on when I redlined it. it showing a code 4 which appears to be a crank position sensor. the car still runs fine and never had this problem untill today. Im not sure what to check for I know the crank sensor is in the dist. can someone give me some advice?

Same happened to me yesterday....kinda the same. B16 wiring has not been touched in nearly 12yrs.. This is my second distributor and its 10+ years old.

Ran out to get lunch with no codes. Parked for a few hours. Jumped in to go home and now I have a crank code. Car runs fine other then a slightly low idle. I was told the sensor could be "on its way out." I check the resistance as instructed by the CRX Si manual. Spec is between 300-750 ohms. Mine is at 360ohms. Should be fine right? I just don't want to get stuck out on the road.

Time to order new dizzy?
