Default Does the 1st gen B16A (pre-OBD) have a knock sensor?

I have the JDM B16A and PW0 ECU. The ECU is throwing a code 23, which is for the knock sensor.

Is there a knock sensor in my engine?
If so, do I need to replace it or could it be something else?

Thanks in advance.

yes you do have a knock sensor, its kinda near the oil filter about 3 in down or so on the left side of the block (right side if you are facing the engine bay)

I'm not sure how to make sure it's wired up correctly. How do I know which wire it is on the ECU and if it's going to the right spot? Thanks.

go here http://www.g2ic.com/ and go under teg tips, then go to ecu pinouts, and that should help you.

That's alright, man. I didn't know it was PW0 until late last night. What I'm unsure about is the wiring. I clicked on that link that 311 gave me, but it didn't work. Could you give me some suggestions if it is the wiring? Thanks.

That link worked the second time I clicked it and I just printed out the ECU pinouts. Thanks!

For PW0, it says the knock sensor is B19--only thing is, I don't know which pin is B19 on the ECU or even what color to look for?

http://www.hondata.com/techwiringpw0.html That is a picture of the plugs and the pin placement. Hope that helps. There probably won't be a wire in the harness that you can cut and solder to. You will have to add that wire to the plug

Thanks, Adam. That should help.

Does anyone know if it's common for a knock sensor to fail?
