so i have a hook up on aftermarket pistons, but i need to know what car to order them for. im going ls/vtec and want to use pr3 or p30 pistons, but those are out of jdm cars. i need to know what car with a b series will give the highest compression ratio for my b18a/with b16a head. am i making sense? i was thinking 99-00 civic si or 94 del sol. any ideas?

 

If you have a hook-up on aftermarket pistons, then you should be able to get whatever compression ratio piston you want. If you want to stick with OE Honda pistons, then the P30's or CTR pistons will give you the highest c/r. 99-00 Si or 94 Del Sol pistons would give you a similar c/r as the PR3 piston.

I saw the pics you posted of your car, and I was wondering if you had used them on that car or another. Kinda cool to see something I had, 3500+ miles away over the internet.

 

CTR would yield the highest comp, but if you're doing an lsvtec, the piston to valve clearance would be really tight because of the high dome. Do you plan on using race gas? CTR pistons + B16 + head porting= race gas...probably high 11 comp or 12. Thats why I'm using USDM ITR pistons with GSR head for daily driver lsvtec set up...Just what my mechanic advised me...his .02

 

im going to just run the p30's. its like 11.5:1. just going to run mix.
