Default Tokico Blues versus Illumina: Which shocks/coilovers would be better?

When i bought my EK it already had coil overs (apexi N1). But I want to replace them.

As of now, I've had my eyes on Tokico (Blues and Illumina)

Which one would you guys suggest?

Looking for something under $500

Thanks!

$500 is pretty low for shocks and coilovers. Ground control and koni yellows is a really popular set up, it'll run you $800-900 though.

turn away from the blues they are a oem replacement and noithing more, illumnis, koni str-t, yellows, or kyb agx.

500 is pretty low as said already for a full set up. i vote keep the apexi.

The ride quality sucks. The car rides like it has no suspension.

Does anyone know where i can get this rebuild?

Ive had the car for 4 years and the previous owner already had them on.

The N1's are 99 spec, so I'm guessing I need it rebuilt just to check if it fixes the ride quality.

Thanks

Bilstein with S. Techs. The combo will run you around $650. I have the Bilstein Type R with S.Techs and I love the ride quality and handling.

I bought my 99 SI with neuspeed lowering springs and Tokiko Blues. It rides exactly like stock except for when you get down to the dead coils on the neuspeed spring.

My 97 dx coupe is running on S-Tech lowering coils and AGX Red adjustables. It rides on the stiff side but its ok. Not bone jarring.

I bought my ek and one of the first things I was looking for was suspension too. I was looking to get koni yellows and ground control coilovers but it was around like 800 so I went ahead and ordered buddy club N spec full coilovers. Happy *** sh*t with the way my car rides. Well worth the extra 200 dollars

I recommend progress series II coilovers. I have them on my b16a ej1 with it dropped 2". Love them. 350 front and 250 rear spring rates. Ride is stiff but not uncomfortabe. Just about perfect. And you won't find better ones for around 600. Just don't buy them from www.robearracing.com. Ordered them from there, they were in backorder. Long story short, 3 months later I still didn't have them and called and he said he got thm in and sold them to someone else. Ordered from a different site, had them in 3 weeks.
