a little confused about koni/gc pricing
I tried comparing the prices between buying the combo separate and buying the complete package from gc. there's a difference of ~$360.
Koni Sport:
-8041 1152Sport (Font) $238.50 per pair
-8041 1213Sport (Rear) $238.50 per pair
---------------------------------------
$477.00
GC:
-92-00 Honda Civic/Del Sol (LIMITED EDITION) Sleeves $299.00 per set
-Made for use with Koni Sports $40.00
-Custom spring rates $40.00
---------------------------------------
$379.00
Parts purchased separately $856.00
Complete kit from GC $1219.00
someone at koni emailed me back confirming that all required hardware comes with the shocks so there's no extra cost there. i'm a little confused about the sleeves though, i'm not sure if that's the price for one, two, or four. nobody has gotten back to me about that yet. can anyone here clear this up for me?

that's odd, I got Koni GC's with custom spring rates for 339. Shouldn't be any extra to specify your own spring rates, unless they decided to change that.
-Made for use with Koni Sports $40.00
-Custom spring rates $40.00
You shouldn't be getting charged for that.
What vendor gave you this pricing?

this^
it just occurred to me that buying through a vendor would most likely be cheaper since they probably buy in bulk, and can afford to cut the pricing a little bit. thanks for all the input, you all just saved me a few hundred dollars.

still odd, I bought direct from GC in 2004 and it was 339 for Koni GC's with spring rates of my choosing. Sucks that they charge extra now
Ground Control is based in California which means businesses are taxed more to do business here which probably justifies the extra costs...!!!

I called GC and asked if they charged extra for custom rates.
On the Limited Edition Honda sets, which are $299, they charge $40 for custom rates.
On the regular Honda sets, which are $339, they don't charge extra for custom rates.
Nothing changed except the introduction of the Limited Edition?
I don't know what the difference between the Limited Edition and regular sets is.

Well I didn't buy the limited edition ones. I bought the Koni-specific sleeves, with my choice of spring rate, and it was 339.
everything for my application (em1) is limited edition only. what makes them limited edition? i don't have a clue. the set i was looking at was just the regular sleeves for a drop, those added the extra $40 for custom rates. the 'road race' version is as far as i can tell, exactly the same only you get custom rates for free. this is also limited edition apparently. these are the ones that cost a flat $339. so if you order directly from GC, make sure you grab the road race version rather than the regulars and save some money.
the price you found on the koni's is a sale price they are offering. $238 per pair. normaly they are $300-$320 per pair. the kits are based off of the normal price not the sale price.

I just bought a set today for $339. They are the Integra Road Race version, Koni Yellow specific with custom rates, and I paid $339 + shipping.
