Default caliper replacement 98 Civic EX

I went searching for a scrapping sound in my left front during right hand turns, could not duplicate the sound on the stands but decided to check my brakes while it was in the air. I found a little chunk missing from the piston boot and also the inner face of my rotor had significant build up of crud on it. That is probably the reason I've had a mild pulsation on braking. The crud is almost resistant to being buffed off with a wire brush. So, I will be turning both rotors this week and rather than just fix this caliper I will get 2 rebuilts from A-zone. Does the brake line simply come off the caliper with a socket or open end wrench or is there some issue I have to watch out for? Besides doing a bleed afterward are there things I need to do or be aware of? thanks

The brake hose is bolted to the caliper with a 14mm bolt. It has crush washer on both sides as well.

always install a new crush washer there a 1x use. only thing i can say dont want leaky brake's. Weired to have a chunk missing out. Also may be a good time to grab brake pads if yours are geting low, kill 2 birds with 1 stone, you'll deff need to bleed the brakes as your diconecting the brake line.

Trey, thanks for the crush washer info

dallas, the pads are meaty BUT the same fluid that has burned and attached to the rotor probably has infiltrated all the pores in the pad and will just crap up the rotor face again so pads are probable also.
