i think that if you want help that will actually do you someting,

you should give more info such as :

purpose of the car, what is the focus on ? will it be used on street ?
what kind of budget u have for your suspension setup ?

i can tell you one general thing though,

parts are 40% the 60% rest of it is only tunning
and that takes time, paper and ink and brain cycles

Three cars I've recently ran to cover as many possible applications since you were not too specific.

ITA CRX: ~2180lbs, eibach ers 500f 700r rates coil overs with koni yellow single adj. revaled all 4 and shortened front units, no front sway bar, rear stock sway bar optional depending on track or conditions.

spec miata: ~2280lbs, eibach ers 700f 325r rates coil overs w/ blistein shocks, eibach sway bar kit: 24mm front adj. 15mm rear adj.

'95 Talon awd (autox/daily driver): ~3200lbs, eibach ers 400f 350r rates coil overs w/ koni yellows, running w/ stock front and rear sway bar.

Now what car, and what you plan to run it in?

Model car
Shock/spring or coilover
strut bars/swaybars
control arms
cage or roll bar
94 Integra RS
Tokico HP 253f/123r (not stiff enough, but they work for now)
ST sway bars 1in front 3/4 in rear
strut bars front rear
stock control arms
my setup works pretty good, makes for a really nuetral, if not overteering car. I would really really like to go stiffer spring rates, like 400f/450-500r but I'm just gonna concentrate on driving the car for the next season and wait to get my truechoice suspension

ps I'm plannin' on puttin in an autopower 4pt race bar too

Heh. 27mm torsion bars up front, and coil overs in the rear.

And yes, it's a Civic.

this is exactly what i want from you guys. Thanks a lot. Keep it coming.

Car is a 96 EK4 and will be a lapping car with a little autox and a little daily driving. Im used to stiff **** so dont be shy.

I have probably $3000 to spend on the suspension but maybe more maybe less, depends how this month and the next few go.

If you have $3000, then you need to figure out all the mathematical schtuff you need for your car & then go custom.

Ask Karl about his sheet & what Scott did for him. That will give you more info than asking others about their setup.

Probably not much help, but here goes...

1989 Caprice (police cruiser)
Hotchkiss Impala SS springs, super secret stunt car shocks
stock swaybars w/ PST poly bushings
stock control arms w/ PST poly bushings front
no cage, no rollbar
15x7 AR767 wheels w/ 225-60-15 Bridgestone Eagers

^ this car is fun to drive for a 4200lb behemoth

1982 RX-7
TMC street springs, cut down one coil
ST front swaybar 1-1/8" w/ ES poly bushings, stock rear (disconnect for rain)
stock control arms w/ ES poly bushings front and the oldest I could find rear
Tokico HP (Blue) shocks front and rear
Autopower 6pt cage
13x7 Panasport Ultralites w/ 225-60-13 Kumho Victoracers

^ this car has rolled a few ARRRRRs (it's rare, but it does happen)

Both these setups prove that you do NOT need to spend big bucks to make a fun track car. The RX-7 will 1:33 at Summit Point with a good driver, or 1:35 with an average driver - pretty damn fast for a 2500lb car with ~100rwhp.

Cal,

'97 ITR with 8 pt. cage currently outfitted with:
- custom-valved Koni Yellows with external one-way adjustment at all four corners
- Eibach ERS springs (600F, 900R) on GC sleeves
- stock sway bars
- Skunk 2 upper arms in front
- Ingalls upper arms in back

I'm selling the Koni's, GC sleeves and springs and replacing with Tein RA's. I've been really happy and successful with the existing Koni/Eibach set up but want to try the RA's.

Crackmonkey you are my hero. My first car was a hand-me-down '81 Caprice and ever since I wrecked it I have always wanted another. Ive just got a soft spot for the car. 89 was still the boxy body shape right?
