Default What happened to my car?!

Last weekend I went to the track and it was only 1/8th mile. I ran consistant 7.9-7.7's @

94 ish mph. I went last night to the same track without changing anything, not even

driving the car since I was at the track last weekend and could only run 8.4's @ 89-90mph!

What happened? Everyone else that was there didn't seem to be affected by the weather

and accually ran better than the last few weeks. Please help me figure this out honda-tech!

Nothing felt weak like there was something going wrong. It didn't feel like it had power like

it had last weekend. Almost like it was running less boost. So I turned the boost up just

below my boost cut and still no better. I just pulled the valve cover off to look at my cams

and they arent wiped out.

IAT get heat soaked. I was having the same problem my IAT would go to 160 even tho it was not high. It came from setting in line so long. My Ecu was taking out 3 or 4 deg of timing due to the false iat readings. worth looking in to.

My IAT is bypassed. No need for it since I don't really drive my car in the winter anymore.

I noticed alot of oil in my compressor housing so I am guessing my turbo is on it's way out.

Compression test is the same as it was when I built the motor 2 years ago. And my

tune is Neptune by Matt Shue.

Compression test is good. My 60's were a little slow but I'm am more worried about the

mph I lost than the E.T. My car started pulling one wheel and that's why my 60' got slower.

heat soak will kill your power output, the factory IAT sits in the heat soaked manifold compounding the problem which makes the ECU think the IAT's are even hotter.

IIRC a tenth slower 60' is worth more than 2 tenths up top... the track could of been worse than last weekend there is literally a million things it could be. Your said your Compression is good so I am assuming you checked it right after you got back from the track?

I just found out that I don't have that dowel pin and o-ring that goes in the number 3 cam

cap and vtec doesn't appear to be working. I thought that it was working at the track but

it felt good out of the hole and then crapped out from 2nd gear on up. Idk I will get a new

dowel pin and o-ring and try it again in a few weeks.

On a separate matter, I will be going for a retune soon (assuming that everything is ok

with my motor) and need some advise. Should I replace my AEBS intake manifold with

an Victor X for the retune? I am shopping for injectors and a Omni map sensor before the

tune and would like to do it at once and not pay for another tune.
