well long story short i was goin over double the speed limit tryin to keep up with my buddies
cuz i got stuck at some lights and we were all cruisin around, and a cop came up behind me outta nowhere
and thru his lights on and got me...i wanna kno if i am screwed or what to do as far as arguin in court for a lesser
charge cuz he charged me with reckless driving, which i've searched and that's no joke of a violation...what should i do??

as some of u may remember i was charged with reckless driving last march and my license
was gone from 5/17 to 12/25!! it sucked really bad, but that incident i caused an accident due to excessive
speeding so therfore i deserved the reckless charge, but last nite i was only speeding....so i am i right to say
that a "reckless driving" charge is irrelevent to my actions? my goal is to ask the judge to reduce my offense
to careless driving, maybe just excessive speeding, what u guys think i got comin to me?

I'm pretty sure, regardless of whether you got into or caused an accident, that once you're going double or more than the posted speed limit you get a reckless driving charge.

So basically, you're ****ed unless you get a really good lawyer. Good luck.

reckless is fair, i was on a bayfront connector, like a highway with no other traffic around doin about 90, speed limit was
45...so i don't feel that's 'reckless'

 

im not the one here asking a question about my reckless driving habits like yourself...it doesn't matter if there was no traffic at all because the bottom line is that you were doing a ricer fly by and you got caught now man up and take the charge like a responsible adult like you claim to be and move on.

btw what is your definition of reckless driving...going 90 in a 45 zone is stupid and reckless

bike a couple nights ago got stopped doin 130 in a 55 and only got an excessive speeding ticket, so i just feel i got stiffed...any let me ask u,how
is speeding or going fast ricer? i mean everyone and their gramma has done it

OP you got caught, just try to ask for a smaller punishment (depending on how clean your record is)

road in front of me just cruisin in 5th not racin or nothin....ppl do 70 and 80+ on the highways everyday! how is my incident any different????

 

and yes, the previous time where i actually wrecked i was deff being DUMB and flyin around the
city on a public road which i REGRET MUCH and since that day i have never exceeded city street speed limits!! nor will i ever again
