Default 95 Del Sol S 5 speed Quarter Mile time

Ok, so I ran my car at the local dragstrip (steele) and the fastest Time I got ( I made 6 passes) was 17.265. I have a Completly stock d15b7. I'm not the best 5 speed driver, but I'm also not the worst. Been driving the car for about 5 months. Does this sound about right for my car or should it be faster?
thanks!

Sounds about right to me,
the d15b7 is only a bit over 100hp, and sols are kinda heavy compared to civics.
so yeah, sounds about right. heck u almost made 16's

Great. Thanks for the responses. Yeah I noticed that every time I ran I would get slightly faster, so perhaps If I keep trying I can hit high 16s. And I agree about a swap. I wanna find a b16a2 and swap it. Or maybe I can put my sigining bonus towards a Kswap. You think 6 grand would be enough for that?

cuz then they know its a k?

haha a lil heavier? like 5-600 lbs of heavier.

uhh if you can do ALL the work yourself 6k might maybe cover it.

the track time sounds about right. if you can't do that k. id say b18 or at the very least SIR2 b16, screw the b16a2. they may be the same about engine but i've beaten stock for stock a2's. maybe not the greatest driver but its been done. straight drop-ins save the K. whichever you do get make sure you get the LSD for the extra and very worth it 300.

Just dont put a b16 in your car, save the extra $ and do a gsr or itr swap, or even a h22. your guna spend a good bit on a b16, and be mad once you do it. trust me. just walk away from any b16, unless your getting the full b16 swap for a steal.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Yeah I'm leaning more towards a b18c swap now.

Boost your D series. You can build and boost the engine for 4k, and it will be way faster than any swap you can get.
If you just want to spend a little bit, you can do some other bolt ons. ANd trust me you will be suprised at how many there are above I/H/E.

I agree with Jim. If I had it to do over again I would have saved my money and bought another D16Z6, Built it, and threw some boost at it and got my 300WHP goal.

I own a Del Sol Si with a D16Z6, myself... and stock it was running mid 16's. Del Sols weigh approx. 2,400 lbs and with a D15, 17's isn't abnormal. You could probably get down to high 16's if you developed your driving skills a little more.

A boosted D series isn't a bad way to go... but with a D15, I never understood the point of it. It's meant for economy. A gas saver. If you're like the rest of the guys I know, a D15 isn't going to be able to spool a turbo big enough to get the times you're trying to reach.

you can still make plenty of power with a d15.

Gsr or else ls/vtec would be the way to go if you want to be fast. Gsr boosted stock motor :-D

I've beaten boosted D15's in my stock D16Z6. I'm not saying they can't make power, I'm saying they're still going to be slow... running mid 13's isn't fast.
