So i sent a 5.9 to dss last week to get repaired and got it back today, but they forgot to put the nut on it. I have a shootout tonight and need a solution! Does anyone know what kind of vehicle i could get the nut off of??

Don't some accords use that larger nut???? I would just take the axle to your local auto parts store and find one that fits...

 

the 4th and 5th gen prelude use a 36mm hub as well so that should work. 92-01 prelude. hope this helps.

 

it is the 36mm hub, but it's a coarse threaded nut. :/ We will be making a trip to advanced auto and ace hardware in a little bit.

Check the GM 4x4 stuff, I thought it was similiar..

The DSS 5.9's are not using Honda outer joints, so the thread is NOT the same as Honda OE stuff.

The 5.9 the size is 1/38 nut or 35mm

 

Well we went to about 10 places here in town..nobody had ANYTHING. And if they did, none of them were willing to help. We got lucky and found out somebody else around here had a set of 5.9's they weren't using so we just borrowed theirs. Lesson learned, if you send an axle to dss to be fixed, keep the nut because you might not get it back, especially if you're shot for time..haha

 

i just replaced some chevy truck wheel berings and the splines and nuw were the same as a 5.9

it was a 06 chevy durmax 4wd

 

well wtf! They checked a few chevy ones but i guess not that one..i might have to go check on that one tomorrow just for the peace of mind

 

dont they use a 996 turbo outer?

 

What the funny thing is I use to run these style axles and I have like 4 or 5 of them rolling around in my tool box for a year. And I was only a phone call away, any way glad you could borrow one and won the import shoot out!
