This guy says the ignition on his car he's selling me is broken, what does this mean? would i have to get a new ignition or like spark plugs and wires? its got a b16 btw

 

you need to ask him dude, he could talking about Dizzys, Key Ignition, Sparkplugs/ wires

tell him to tell you specifically what part

It depends on what exactly is broken.

 

When a customer (I work in parts) comes in and says they need a new ignition, they usually mean the ignition on the steering column. Often this happens because the car has been stolen or otherwise broken into.

 

yeah he said this "Yeah it runs good actually. The starts and everything the ignition is broken so you could start it with anything that will fit." but he has the title and everything how much would the ignition lock be?

 

Call junkyards, parts stores and Honda.

We can't really tell you the prices for sure.

Figure out if you just need the lock cylinder (the part you put the key into) or if you need the ignition switch too (the white part on the end of the cylinder with the wires going from it).

If you get a new cylinder you can either get a lock smith to retumble your locks to match your stock key or you can just use a different key for the doors versus ignition. I'd recommend you at least get a new key from Honda.

If he says you can turn the car on with anything then I'd either suspect the cylinder i worn to the degree that either the cylinder is just worn from use or is damaged from being broken into.
