Recently rebuilt my D16y7 engine. new rods, pistons, and bearings. I had a spun bearing which is the reason for the rebuild.

I got a different block, had it honed to spec and started the rebuild. but now i have a few problems.


My spedo cut out on me and wont work at all. Replaced the VSS and still not working. Thinking i need to replace the cluster.

The oil pressure light remains constant. replaced the pump and the light still remained on. Replaced the sensor and still on. So that has me a little stumped, and is what I am worried about the most.

And just out of curiosity I'm wondering about my girdle. It was notched to make the clearance for new rods, but what does it do other than hold the bearings for the shaft.
