Default D16Z6 388hp @ 24lb boost, Good or Bad???

I have a D16Z6 recently went to the dyno and we are getting 388hp at 24lb boost. I understand that others with the setup I have, have got the same horsepower less pounds of boost. And those extra pounds of boost you have taken more than 400hp, because there will not be as expected. What you believe is right or you can get more for less pounds of boost, think and accept suggestions, thanks. Here 's my setup:

Engine:
D16z6 std bore block
CP pistons 9:0:1
Eagle rods
Balanced engine
ARP stud
Cometic head gasket
D16Z6 head ported and polish
Super tech spring and retainer
Stock oem camshaft
AEM sprocket
Y8 intake manifold ported
Trottle 62mm
Precision 880cc injector
AEM fuel rail
Microtech LT-8S ECU

Ram horn manifold
Precision Turbo 6262sp 70a/r front 63 A/R hot
3" Down pipe
38mm wastegate Tial
Tial blow off
31x12x3 intercooler

ACT extreme clutch
OBX LSD

Seems about right depending on how conservative the tune is. Your manifold, cam, and throttle body combo are choking the set up a little. Could probably pick up an easy 50 whp changing those out. Is this pump gas or race gas?

The cam for sure.
What's wrong with a ramhorn manifold and 62mm tb?!

Not the exhaust manifold its the intake manifold. Go to a skunk 2 or elderbrock mani. And a zex, bisi, crower, etc turbo cam. Nice setup tho.

You definitely need to step up that cam... Bisi 2.4 or 3.6 is probably the ticket.

stock cam no head work?

post up the dyno graph the curve will tell a lot

what RPM did the 6262 make 24lb by?

plus, all dynos read differently. have you taken it to the track yet?

i ran 11.366 on what a local mustang dyno told me was 308whp

I would say stock cam is killing you edelbrock or sheetmetal intake mani would help but I think that cam is choking you look into the bisi 2.4 if its a street car or the 3.6 for something a bit more evil.

It was a racing fuel. That cam shaft, intake manifold and trottle you recommend?

Get a bisi cam.
They have been proven to make some power.
Get an edelbrock intake manifold.
Should put you well into 400 maybe even deep in the 400s

The problem is that my goal was to get at least 450hp to 480hp with 25-28lb boost. From what I see, I see no way to go. If I leave here I go to have to turn up to more than 30lb of boost and I do not. I've seen people who have done it without any problem. Someone knows how I can achieve my goal?

Edelbrock performer X mani, bisi 2.4 cam (if money is tight zex 59300 is a proven performer also), and a 68-70mm t-body. If you get the bisi cam make sure you have t degreed in to the recommended specs. Those items should land you between 430-450 Whp

And why do you hessitate to turn the boost up?

You should see 450+ with around 28-30lb boost, it may be that your turbo is under its effiecency area at "low" boost with a little less flowing engine(stock camshaft, and small discplacement). havent seen your turbo flowchart, or your tq curve, but it is a guess.

Anyhow, even though ppl make 700hp on a d nowadays I would rather focusing on having a strong powerband all the way than making some dynoqueen number..

What RPM are you revving the motor to??

A cam and intake mani would definitely be beneficial across the entire powerban. I'd look at Golden Eagle, Edelbrock, or the Skunk2 (in that order) for the intake manifolds.

I wouldn't worry to much about the boost #, turn it up if need be.
