Yesterdays drag strip results
This was my first time on slicks. I was using 23x8.5x15 slicks at about 13 psi. I was not prepared at all as rain was rolling in and I was in a hurry to get some runs in.
I warmed the tires a bit. I didnt want to overdo anything because I was afraid of breaking something.. Couldnt get my 60' to where it should be. 1.9 at best.
Got 3 runs in, and got better on every run.
Here are the slips

Weight unknown. Car put down 203whp. This is untuned. No rear seats. No passenger seat.
Any advice on preloading? Will 2 step help? Advice appreciated.

Tire PSI --> 13psi
Burnout was in 1st.. didnt have cahonas to do a 2nd gear burnout...
1st run launch ~4400rpm
2nd run ~5000
3rd run ~6000
I didnt exactly drop the clutch, but didnt really preload either. Pretty much just feathered the clutch..
IMO, those slicks are pretty big for your setup, and on all motor cars bogging is the enemy. Launch at a higher rpm for sure. I'm not accustomed to racing hondas, but i'd think you're going to want to launch a little higher than 6k on those slicks.
Preloading, just get staged, pull your ebrake up, and let your clutch out just enough to feel the front wheels pull. From here, you'll get a feel for how hard you need to be letting the clutch out(dropping the ebrake simultaneously). More of a dump than anything.
Keep at it!

I have a 2 step function on my S200 I need to hook that up and play with it.
You think I should be launching higher then 6k?
Doing a burnout in 2nd, will that help?

Youre tire pressure is too high. you can actually get away with that size slick with your HP. Try launching it with 10psi and work your way down 1/2 psi at a time to check how that reacts to the changes.
Invest in a tire pressure gauge that can read 0-15psi to accurately read the slight change in PSI you plan to do.
As far as launch RPM, you should be launching at least 6K+

launch high and if u spin work your way down.
2nd gear burnouts dont take *****. just do it. put the car in 2nd gear, bring the RPM up, and dump the clutch.
when you start making more power, 3rd gear burnouts are the norm. i wouldnt be surprised if the big boys running 8s are doin 4th gear burnouts.
stop racing without a tune. you will end up blowing up your motor and ruining the track for everyone else that night.

Those slicks didn't help you. I have cut 60' times like yours on Summer tires and a stock GSR suspension. I launch at about 4500rpm, Hondata S300 rev limiter.
I'm curious how did you do when you didn't run the slicks?

I ran like a 14.3 at 102.5.... for some reason I bogged like crazy and had full interior, carseat, and boom box.
I dont think I warmed up the slicks long enough, and this is my first time at the track in a while... I will be getting a tune, hopefully in the next week or two and I will be back over there trying to see what I can hit
My old motor car made slightly more power than yours on a hearbreaker. I ran 22x8's at 9psi, 2nd gear burn out, preload the car and drop the clutch at 7800 RPM's shifting at 9400. It would run 12.40's at 110 all day long on 93 octane and a full interior.
Drop your tire pressure, raise your launch RPM, and go with it. You shouldn't be spinning in second gear on a good slick with that little power. If you are then you need to get the tires warmer. Hell I only chirped 2nd and 3rd on a big hit of nitrous in the same car trapping 101ish in the 1/8.
