sorry did a search and i didnt get much, so ill try here and if it gets deleted, it gets deleted. every1 using arp extended wheel studs post em up, a whole wheel and studs shot, or like half a wheel w/ the studs so you know what wheel it is. again, sorry if its already posted

 

wtf, u mean to tell me all u hardcore jdmers dont have extended wheel studs??? u spend 2k on seats, and 700 on dumbass bys wings and no1 has extended wheels studs??????

So you are trying to use extended wheel studs and run stock si wheels? You do realize that your awesome open end tuner lugs will not sit properly on a si wheel, right? Do you even know the purpose of extended lug studs?

Let me clarify some things for a couple people in here. BTW, these are all regardless of whether or not you have extended wheel studs.

1) If you are using OEM wheels, you need to use OEM lug nuts with a ball/radius seat.
2) If you are using aftermarket wheels, you need to use aftermarket lug nuts with a tapered/conical or flat seat, depending on the wheel.
3) If you want to run aftermarket lug nuts on OEM wheels, you need to run a lug nut conversion adapter. You can find them here: http://www.clubrsx.com/cr/SSR-WHEELWASHER.html
4) If you have extended wheel studs and OEM wheels, and you need an OEM open-ended lug nut, go to your local Honda dealer, ask for part number 90381-SV1-901 from a CRX Si model, bend over, then walk out with the PROPER lug nut for your car.

If you use the wrong lug nuts on your wheels, you will have problems due to the seat of the lug nut not making proper contact with the surface of the rim. If this happens, you lug nuts can fall off, which can lead to your wheel falling off.

Apparently its a very hard concept to grasp that OEM Wheels don't work with tuner lug nuts. Like i mentioned before, safety last kiddo's!...sheesh.

 

old...... but i just learned something.

 

1. Factory Honda wheels have a ball-type seat for the lug holes, so you'd either have to source adapter washers to run under your lug nuts converting them from conical seat to ball-type seat or run a ball-type seat open-ended lug nut (I have yet to find one, so good luck sourcing one).

2. Arguing a competitive gain for extended lug studs, then stating that you're using Si wheels is a rather massive contradiction. Si wheels will fit without them, and there really is no gain to be had over stock studs.

3. This thread is just going to breed more negative commentary, so I'm stopping it here.
