How did you mount your race seat in your 5th gen?
Doesn't seem to much info on this topic.
Currently trying to figure out a mounting solution for a Cobra Suzuka (sidemount seat). I'm ~6' 2" and in the OEM seat, am slightly hitting my head on the roof with a helmet on. Vertical space is at a premium. I need to go down, at least a little.
I would love to be able to keep using sliders, if possible.
This is primarily a autox car that is driven to and from events. It is not daily driven.
Comments/suggestions?
Thanks!

You should check out Wedge Engineering. They make some mounting brackets.

I can't tell by the picture on the website but it looks like you might need to buy separate sliders.

^ yes with wedge engineering brackets you are going to need seperate sliders
pretty much the only company to go with though.. for preludes at least..

Sliders will remove quite a bit of headroom. If you want to get as low as possible, I'd either fab some plates that bolt into the OEM mounts and then bolt the side mounts into those, or replace the OEM mounts completely with square tubing and bolt the side mounts into the square tubing. I've done both, and I prefer the tubing that's welded into the chassis. Much more secure, IMO.
If you're the only one driving, not a big deal to lose adjustability.

Thanks for the responses.
I picked up a used wedge slider bracket, and some super low sidemounts to try out.
I cut the sliding bars off the bracket, put my sliders on, and that seems to be at about stock height.
Test fit pic.

I still need to do some fine turning, and get everything bolted/mounted together. Height wise, it'll be ok. With my helmet on, In the stock seat, I slightly rub my had against the headliner. I'm willing to deal with that for the amount of money I have vested in this setup.
If it doesen't work, I'm going to take 117's suggestion and hard mount it. It should be pretty easy to find a happy medium.
The reason I'm trying to retain some adjust ability, is because when I swap cars with people at autox it would suck if they were unable to drive it. It would also be nice to not have to drive to/from events crunched up.

I needed a lot of extra headroom in order to pass the 2" rule. No way would I be able to do that with sliders on the bottom of the bracket.
Just to update, I put all the stuff together and sit slightly lower than stock.
My head still rubs on the headliner (with helmet), but now does not rub on the sunroof sliding cover like with the stock seat.
List of parts;
Modified Wedge Engineering sliding bracket. (I cut off the 'slider' rails)
Unknown brand sliders. (looks to be some generic brand)
Low profile sidemounts. (similar to bride)
I'm glad I got the sliders to wrok. Without them, I wouldn't be able to get out of the car (without a quick release steering wheel).
Can't wait to try it this weekend.
