Default getting a higher compression ratio (b18a1)

i have an 89 crx dx with an ls swap, i believe the stock compression ratio in a b18a1 is 9.2-1. i am new to cars and was wondering how i would go about getting the ratio in the 11's...what parts would i need? and what kind of work would this entail? thanks in advance!

You can shave the head or use a thinner head gasket. Good luck.

remeber though when rasing your compression you need to think about octane levels(fuel) and a few other variations. if your new to cars or at least upgrading them do some resarch on on what you wanna do its not as easy as a simple piston swap if you are wanting 11:1 comp. ratio

Actually it is pretty much that easy. pr3 (b16) pistons will get him where he wants to be. Ran a b18a with i/h/e and pr3 pistons, it was much faster than my b16 swap. Ran 14.4 @ 94mph all day long on street tires.

hahahaha lol um NO its not

sure i/h/e help but it not that simple especially to the fact if your doing it "right" not some rednecked ghetto rigged job

swapping pistons to create a higher compression takes work, once that is done a new octane fuel is needed so that you do not casue detenation in your engine. once that is figured out you need a tune so your setup can run what octan level you wanna run or need to run thus that requires chipping you ecu.
you also need to think about spark plugs as a higher compression mean higher octane means higher heat levels thus resulting in the need for diffrent plugs.

swapping pistons in to a car and leaving it at that... NO, its not as simple as that period


if you think it is go ahead and do it that way fact is your garunteed to run in to issues very quickly. but dont just go off what im saying go do your research, gain some knowledge :D
