are these bright anuf for tail lights?(led 20000mcd)
you guys are probbly gnna be dissapointed when you hear this but this project is for my 67 mustang . i just knew i would get more help here. yes i own a honda 2001 civic ex. as for the parking light and brake lights theres too + one for parking brake and the other for brake light and one - . ill wire every other light to the parking with a small resistor so there not as bright and the remaning lights ill wire to the brake lights without the extra resistor.
this shoud help some people out http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...sp=%2F1157.htm . as for your plan with the extra resistor it should make the dimer. but u do not wont to do this for your bilkers because they work off of residents to much they will be to slow or not at all to little and they will be to fast to the point that they will look to be on all the time.

LED's don't dim all that much unless you severly cut their voltage. I'd suggest using 1 LED for running for every 2-3 used for brakes. I also prefer to wire a 'bank' in series so there's no question how much voltage they use. If it's a red that uses 2.1v, I run 6 in a bank (~2.16v each) for full brightness or 9 in a bank for dim running lights (~1.4v on a 13v system).
Make sure you test out the brightness before you spend lots of time on it. The first 18-led 3rd brake light I made was far brighter than I expected...
Just sharing my experience here. NEVER BUY LEDS FROM CHINA. I purchased some from some ebay seller and they came from Hong Kong which took forever. Also half of them were dim and then later burnt out after a few hours. And why would you want to chance them being bad on a project and having to repair them.
