Default HIGH IDLE!!!!!!!!

Just bolted up a new Skunk2 intake manifold, and throttle body onto my B18a1. After I got everything done and started it up my idle after warming up was just under 3k. The thorttle cable is all the way backed off, and the set screw is also. In the morning I will be back at again, but i'd like some ideas before hand.

Thank you

You have a intake leak. Get some brake clean or carb clean and spray around manifold and t/b while car idling. When rpm drops you have found where it is leaking from. Gl

I would start by checking your vacuum lines, especially the PCV. This is usually the culprit causing a higher than normal idle and smoke out the muffler. You can just simply unplug it and notice the difference right away, as the idle should start to lower.

Also, just because the throttle cable is all the way backed off doesn't mean that there isn't any tension. You have to account for the cable's mounting bracket, which could be mounted to far away, though unlikely.

look at the throttle body make sure its fully closed. and be careful if you plan on spraying carb cleaner on your hot motor, it is flamable.

double check all your work.

did you torque the intake studs in the correct sequence and torque spec?
