Planning to buy a R today......help
I am thinking to buy a R today.
01-0192 can someone give me the history of this car? Or were can I get it? besides carfax thing.
it has 44k original miles and its black. It had battery so we satarted it and it sounded and idled fine.
ONE PROBLEM is that the oil level was over the second line. Will that hurt anything?
thanks yo

If you want to get the history of the car, you will need the VIN number. Then pay to get a report from carfax, carproof or similar. Was the oil level at operating temperature or cold start temperature?
If you have too much oil in the car, it can build pressure and blow gaskets.

Like said above, get the VIN off the car and run a Carfax. For some reason this black ITR with 44k sounds familier, I think it's been discussed in this forum before.
well its too late cuz it plays at 12pm today. The auction said 44k actual mileage so that means they checked it and made sure its real deal.
I believe it was copart.
We cheked it out today.
The vin number on the dash was missing.....weird. Thats about the only thing that i found weird with it cept it had diferent fenders but they had matching vins to each other but not the car vin #.

Where's my man Joe at with some registry info for heR?!
Sounds like a shady car, be careful.
The oil level could be high because the car burns oil and it was low. Possible the owner just added some oil to top it off and put too much in.
Take it for a test drive!!

Ok, found the caR on copart to which you're probably referring. VIN ends 001237 ? This is an educated deduction based on the badge # you provided and the check digit "5".
Anyways, I don't have any specific owner history or stories about heR by VIN or that badge #. What I do know is that VIN was totaled out by insurance due to collision at the end of 2003. Given the caR was just 2 years old at that point, it's value would have been high. So 75% of value of probably $18-20k value = some good damage.
It's currently bid up to $6400. I personally wouldn't go higher unless you're in Cali and can pick it up. Shipping would make it a no go IMO.
