I believe that i am missing the black rubber boot on my front drivers side shock i believe. Im not sure exactly what it covers all i know is that when i rotated my tires there was a black rubber boot on the passenger side and on the drivers side there was none just a silver bar. Do i need a boot here and where would i get one and how would i install it?

 

No, the bellows is not required.

 

jk, it's not really important. Next time you change your struts, you can grab a pair to replace the old/missing ones, but they're unneccessary at the moment.

strut bellows are very important to the operation of the strut, they keep the dirt out and prevent the seals inside the strut from being ruined.

 

Now if i purchaced a new boot online would i be able to install it without haveing to remove the strut?
