Default 93 del sol...bad idle???

Ok so I have a 93 honda del sol and the idle is jacked up. On here I checked that if you cover the bottom hole and the idle surging stops then its you fit valve??? well I've checked it and it's clean and was still together.

Another question if I leave it covered up, what will be the outcome???

Yes the bottom hole is the FITV. Covering the hole will only show a problem after the engine is at normal operating temperature. You don't want to use a permanent cover for the hole. Covering the hole is only for diagnostic purposes. The FITV is adjustable. If you want to close your FITV, turn the white plastic adjustment bushing until it is closed. The result will be no more high idle when the motor is cold which in turn will make cold starts more difficult.

You don't want to cover it up because anything you cover it with has a chance of being pulled into the motor. Usually the suction from the hole will hold tape in place long enough to see if covering it fixes the problem but it will eventually lose grip over time. If the FITV still lets air through when tightened all the way, it's not from the gasket and you can't replace it atm, you could fill it with some kind of gasket maker, glue, etc.
