ok. i drive a 1993 civic hatch. just did a z6 swap. bought the dropout for 500, and a week later, i check fluids... it burns oil. i have access to a dc teg FULL obd1 dropout, axles, b18b, 5spd trans, mounts, linkage, ecu... for 700 bucks!!! downside is... the motor has 168k on it. prolly burns oil. so my thinking is that if i swap ill have a b series car. so then when the motor blows up, ill have that many more swap options. IS IT WORTH IT?????

thats what i was thinking, but the amount of miles on the motor and trans is kinda scarry. it would prolly run good. but i dont wanna kick myself in the *** if it dosnt. btw, its fresh junkyard car, ls teg with altezzas. prolly been beaten. im gettting a deal cuz im a good costomer. trans might grind... not sure... buy at own risk basically.
Z6 is a damn good engine but it needs to be boosted to get any real performance out of it.........no reason not to use it........the LS isnt anything special unless you boost it or convert to vtec........and the difference in power between the 2 is made up with some bolt-ons and a tune on the Z6. id say buy the LS, sell it, then get some higher CR pistons and rings, hone it, a couple other bolt-ons, and a tune and youll have close to LS power..............or start piecing together a boost setup and on a stock bottom end you can have 200+whp safely..........all without going thru a motor swap. a 200hp boosted D series can be very reliable, still get good mileage, and be ALOT of fun.
if you decide you want more power(i think about 250whp is about all a D bottom end should be asked to handle).........forged rods and pistons, injectors, more boost and another tune(there are other things that need to be addressed but those are the basics).
