Default WAXing.......

I usually wax my car once a month, someone told me i am over doing it...
is it true? will the wax really gonna hold up for one whole year?
i also use those 6inch buffer to remove wax with terry cloth pad.
i use the same pad to remove the wax off the whole car,
the pad some time got hot and when i touch the pad, the wax is harden.
am i doing it wrong? harden wax on pad=damage? ???

just use Eagle One Wax as You Dry...everytime you wash it, supposed to look real good, and no work!

how many coats of wax does everyone usually put on when waxing? I've always gone with just one, but would more bring out a better shine?

I usually wax the hood, front bumper, and top twice. Since my car is a 94, the clear coat isn't has good on those spots (bumper, hood, and top take a beating from the elements).

Painted bumper. The more wax you have on it, the better the bugs come off!

I wax my car like every 2 weeks if I can. I don't mind doing it, and I would say I've waxed my car around 15-20+ times since I bought it. I got it in Dec. 2000. I think it looks awesome and the shine is always there. But that's just me, I guess I can't get enough of the shine it produces! As a matter of fact, I'm waxing it this weekend!

Yup...... wash once a week, zaino every 3 weeks, and Z-6 gloss enhancer to keep up the shine after the wash.

Zaino is the best!

Well anytime you rub anything on your paint, you are creating micromarring on some level. (even if its not visible to the human eye). So waxing too much can eventually cause swirling.

Organic Carnauba based wax doesn't "layer". Since it doesn't cure, adding more coats will simply mix the new wax in with the old.

Acrylic Polymer sealants on the other hand do layer, are more durrible, and provide better shine & protection.

Good sealants -> Zaino, Klasse, Blackfire, Platinum.
