ok i just bout a 95 civic coupe it has the y8 swap in it with a z6 dizzy. my problems are its running like a terd i have tried advancing the timing didnt help its still retarded also i did an oil change yesterday got done let it run a min then took around the block DIDNT get on it stayed around 2 grand if that got back and now hear a slight tap or knock. im almost positive that my head gasket is still good cause old oil wasnt milkshaky. i dont know if its maybe a spun bearing or valve stick. can anyone help me out????

 

LOL.. i got a 91si with a y8 swap and a z6 dizzy also. they tried notching it but ended up cutting most the slots off and still only ran at 9 degrees. i would either get a y8 dizzy or like me just got a y7 dizzy (both the same part numbers) and repind it. very easy and color cordenated.just remove one pin from the dizzys and insert where the other came from. on y7 dizzy youll need to remove the cap and add the blue wire i thank or black and yellow that will be on the z6 dizzy. theyll be a screw there on the icm of the y7 dizzy.

still need help with the knock noise i think its a hyper extended valve spring anyone have any extra springs?

 

with out hearing it hard to say but check valve lash. fix the dizzy problem and re-time it. could be sparkknock/preignition
