Koni Ground Control RIDES LIKE CRAP
well i was installing my brand new koni ground control kit. and like i only installed the rear. but it rides like total ****. every bump is exaggerated and it feels like there is no shock absorber... it just hits every little bump hard and its really hard. i called ground control today to see if i had put the right springs in the back (the shorter springs) and i did. im guessing a 1 inch drop is too much and its gonna ride like **** now? input please.
i might just order a set of progress coilovers and sell this system if i cant get a close to oem feel when i drive. this is ridiculous

^LOL! Yeah go ahead and install the front, and then make sure the Koni's aren't adjusted to full stiff or something silly like that. Oh yeah, did you get the OTS GC rates or custom?

Can't help you until we know the spring rates.
Also did you install everything correctly? You left off the OE shock dust boots, right? If you put them on, then that's your problem right there.

yeah of the the shell not custom
and its not that its stiff it's that there is no shock abosorber work like I feel every little road detail. and I only dropped it about an inch. the rear feels like a go cart and when I set the shocks to soft its worst
I did leave the dust boots on there though...bad?

turn damper down. I hope you put the washer on the shaft of the shock, the one that goes right under the the bushings on the top hats. Spring rates would be helpful. Lowered an inch should not ride like ****.

It sure sounds like someone doesn't understand the roles of shocks and springs in a suspension.
Whether or not you feel every bump / detail in the road, has nothing to do with the shock.
The shock is there to prevent the spring from continuing to oscillate after a bump. The spring rate determines how much suspension deflection you have going over the bump (i.e. how much you feel it).
That is an over simplified explanation, but it only gets more complicated from there...
Drive a car with soft (stock) spring rates, and blown/shot shocks, and you'll understand better. You don't fell the bump harshly or anything, but you sure feel the car bounce repeatedly after each one. Then go drive a car with very stiff spring rates and adequate shock damping. You feel every single bump, but no bounce.
Take the OEM dust boot out if you have them in there and make sure the struts are not turned to full hard. It would help to install the fronts too. You have to expect it to ride a little harsher. Lowering the car is taking away travel of the suspension. In order for it to not bottom out or have the UCA hit the shock towers over every bump its has to be stiff.
haha thanks for bashing me guys. i wasn't really trying to smartass anyone. i was just trying to state the situation with some show of my frustration. cuz boy this ride is frustratiing me...it rides like a 1940s jeep all harsh and jumpy. i hope i havent messed anything up ):
so lets see take off the dustboot? anything else?
i need a close to stock ride with about an inch drop at most? im no way trying to slam this ride people so please dont kill me with abusive answers. if i were a suspension guru i wouldnt be asking for help

I'm lowered about 1.75 inches and have stiffer rates than OTS and it rides smooth. You should really install the front, adjust it to softest then take it for a drive.
If you have the OEM plastic dust shield installed, take it off. I made the same mistake and my car rode like complete **** until I removed it. The problem is the shock body can't go up inside that thing and it will just hit, and hit hard!
